The garden that takes up approximately 560 ha, has more than 9000 different species of plants and trees. One of Cape Town's most beautiful recreational areas, the upper part of the garden consists of evergreen indigenous forests and the lower slopes are cultivated with big lawns, ponds, streams and curving pathways. It offers peaceful and serene surroundings where one can replenish the soul and provides a spectacular backdrop for some of the popular summer sunset concerts including light music, jazz and carols by candle light. |
